    Summary of the Book

In a dystopian future, London has fallen into a nightmarish version of its present self. In this land, a group of teenagers indulges in violent crimes for fun. The four teenagers, Alex, Dim, Georgie and Pete, they constantly abuse drugs. One night, they are high on a drug called drencrom, and they decide to go on a spree of violence. They assault a scholar walking home from a public library and rob a store, injuring the owners as well. They then abuse a poor man and fight a rival gang. They follow up the night with a ride on a stolen car, breaking into an isolated cottage. They find a young couple and beat the husband while raping the wife. It is soon clear that nothing is beyond the morals of the gang. The government tries to change Alex for the better, at a terrible cost.

Read this Book before watching the award winning movie by Stanley Kubrick

"Penguin Classics" once again saves our money by publishing this classic novella by Burges. Any one who thoroughly wants to enjoy the movie by the same name must first read this book.
Though the font size in these "penguin classic" edition are quite small but it's really comfortable in case of this book because it's only of 140 pages.
A must read for literary fiction fans .

    Very Horrorshow

I like this book a lot. The Nadsat slang is funny. The violence is not too explicitly described. And I appreciate the last chapter of this novel because Burgess was trying to give a positive message. The introduction given at the start of the book must be read for a better understanding of the theme of the novel. The book was in pristine condition, good quality, good print, well packed and at a a discounted price when I purchased it. A good read this was.

    Bloody Perfect

The Flipkart delivery was perfect as usual.

The book is based on the premise that every man needs the ability to decide his own fate and personality than being conditioned to a different person on the whim of the society.

The author's use of nadsat vocabulary through out the novel gives the book a very sophisticated feel, but it is worth it.

Do yourself a favor, read this book before you do anything else

    philosophy behind the book

First of all there was no need of that last chapter Mr Burgess your American publisher's had been right.

This book just makes you question

Is it really as bad to be bad or is it just the fear and moral obligations thrust upon us by the society that makes us tamper with our true nature and behave of only permitted sorts to please in a way everyone around us.
Disorder is the nature of the universe so indeed some obnoxiousness is natural to the behavior of all living being's & maybe religion w...
