Awesome. Unmatched performance for its price.
This FX 9590 is actually awesome by performance. But I know well that critics will point out that this has an extremely high TDP of 220 W. Its even true it would get well heated up but with a liquid cooler it would not much. So its time AMD should shift to 22nm or 14nm.
There would be many who would say its an overclocked 8350. But don't always go by this. Also the 220W TDP is the max. - that the CPU reaches only on worst case scenarios. So during web browsing, etc. it won't be reaching that...

220 W..? Please excuse me I don't want high power bills..
AMD are best while playing games and viewing videos but the power watts they use are huge as compared to Intel so I will always stick with i7 which takes around 80w power. Think before buying it ,it's 220w.
Do you know AMD's AM1 series 5350 consumes only 25w. tha'ts superb . Certainly not this one, go for i7 3770k or i7 4770k they are equally good.

Time to hate on Intel Fanboys
This is a great processor for the amount you are paying, 220w tdp is no big deal if you can get a decent water cooler or a top-notch air cooler.
I flip off people who says its not fair to compare amd vs intel, well my dear overwhelmed noobs, understand that everyone is not buying cpus to show off.
Performance to Price ratio and field of use are the keywords you need to consider when buying a processor. If you are looking for an ultra high end gaming machine, don't spend 40k on 5930k or simi...

Worlds Fastest Processor - Consumer Level
Can You Imagine reaching at 5.Ghz its simply amazing, Intel can no where close to this processor, mind you Intel has not yet come up with Eight Core Technology, Piledrive architecture this feature Intel can never imagine about it. See the Cache Memory L2 is whooping 8 Mb, 8x more l2 cache; more data can be stored in the l2 cache for quick access later.
If over clocked with liquid cooling it reaches 5.18Gh, now where dose Intel stand a chance against it.

220W terrible, we can use it as heater also..
even though 4.7Ghz, no use @ 220w power disp.
again it is not at all comparable to intel processor, they are much optimized in all directions..
here the memory BW is very less 21Gb/s where as in intel 76.8Gb/s, this is very important these days because it reflects the speed of SSD, USB3.0, Bluray playing and HDMI trasmission.
So, I think it's waste of money to buy this..

AMD fans....Its not always price-benefit fact
Well,it is clear to all of us that even with a liquid cooler,High graphics video games or even a 3D sample presentation will generate so much heat in this series that u better cook omelette on the CPU.... but on the ground where longevity matters,it STANDS JUST NOWHERE N*FRONT of intel,even with a max clock speed @ 4.2-4.4 GHZ,THE i7 intel product will ensure your computer*s internal safety and of course,Electric Bill!
Wish u guys aren*t going to take a huge bum on asses due to mountain high...

A reliable processor
1st critics point out 220 TDP.....its reaaly high but for people who consider using a liquid cpu cooler its not a matter.
Coming to performance:
GOOD for gaming purpose......also see the extensions for this cpu!! its reaaly good.
Handles tasks with ease but at the cost of power..........
Stirctly speaking this cpu is not a power saver processor...It consumes more power in order to deliver high performance...
This really competes with intel processors of this price range.
BUT ONE DRAWBACK IS L...
