  • Description
Bret Easton Ellis's American Psycho is one of the most controversial and talked-about novels of all time. A multi-million-copy bestseller hailed as a modern classic, it is a violent and outrageous black comedy about the darkest side of human nature. With an introduction by Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting. I like to dissect girls. Did you know I'm utterly insane? Patrick Bateman has it all: good looks, youth, charm, a job on Wall Street, and reservations at every new restaurant in town. He is also a psychopath. A man addicted to his superficial, perfect life, he pulls us into a dark underworld where the American Dream becomes a nightmare . . . Part of the Picador Collection, a series showcasing the best of modern literature.

    Perfect!

What many ppl don`t realize about this book is that it is about finding yourself more than confusing other`s identities. The violence, mayhem, catastrophe described in the novel are described in a flamboyant, n let me put it this way, humorous way! In fact after going through Bateman`s life, you kinda feel attached to violence, n it`s like u feel there`s a part of him in you too, maybe we hide it.....maybe it`s just the words that persuades you to identify yourself with him. The writer does i...

    Zeitgeist Hardly Gets Better

In this tale of the soulless search for perfection in the New York of the late 1980s, we see Patrick Bateman, a crazy mind at work in the shallow, Prufrockesque confines of his world. He moonlights as a grisly serial killer who takes pleasure in dishing out tremendous pain to anyone who seems like an aberration to him. The novel is a brilliant exposition of the empty and heartless world that Bateman and his mates are a part of. The characterization is shallow in places, and sweeping generaliz...

Crazy ! But a must read

This book is simply crazy ! Bret Easton Ellis has ruthlessly narrated the story of bone chilling crimes committed by an evil, rather a diabolic psychopath. His way of cold and sarcastic narration is pretty interesting and keeps you glued to the book however gruesome things might get. Those weak at heart dare not pick this up and as they're bound to toss and turn in bed after reading about just a couple of murders.
One suggestion : Watch the movie first ! Helps your imagination skills ! XD
