Description

Bioshock: Ultimate Rapture Edition is a combination of two different Bioshock games. It contains within it Bioshock and its immediate Sequel, Bioshock 2. The Bioshock franchise has been published by 2K Games and is well known for their survival horror title release. The games are all based on a first person perspective meant for FPS fans. The game looks into the environment as your ultimate arena, letting you turn almost anything into a deadly weapon designed to aid you in your quest.

This is a feature found in both versions of the game, even though you may play as different characters. You play as a human in the first Bioshock investigating the underwater city of Rapture while in Bioshock 2, you play as an Alpha series Big Daddy, a creature created out of scientific experimentation on human subjects. Big Daddy creatures are paired to Little Sisters, girls who are mentally conditioned to gather Adam from fallen enemies.

Synopsis and Features

Adam and Eve are scientific components in the game that provide you a mean of using Plasmids and Tonics. These components arose out of Rapture’s unbridled and unbiased scientific freedom granted to its citizens. Scientists were able to completely study the Human Genome and experiment with willing Human Subjects, something the surface world had strictly forbidden. Plasmids and Tonics were developed which granted subjects with superhuman abilities by enhancing or changing active or passive activities within their bodies.

The First game starts off with the player waking up on a plane which develops a malfunction and crashes into the ocean. You survive the crash miraculously with no injuries and discover an old lighthouse which provides you a refuge. Inside, an old submersible waits to take you down to the underwater dystopia called Rapture. The city had started out as a haven for society’s elite, gifted scientists, artists and industrialists. The City was built on ideals of human perfection, which quickly fell apart due to the complete freedom granted within it.
When descending down to the city, you hear the voice of a man who asks you for your help and you get your set of objectives from that point in the game. The first thing you see is a city littered with rubble and corpses with hulking guardians walking about who protect little girls called Little Sisters. Though the Little Sisters are not dangerous to the player’s health, the Big Daddy companions can be a hazard when trying to Rescue the girls.

Bioshock 2 has its events set in Rapture as well. The game takes place roughly eight years after the events of Bioshock. You do not control a human in this game, but take control of an all powerful Big Daddy who is an Alpha Class Guardian. You have been separated from your assigned Little Sister and must now scour the city in order to locate her. Big Daddies are Bonded to their Little Sisters by a special link that when severed, causes them to slowly go into a state of Coma. The onset of the Coma takes place very slowly, allowing the creature ample time to search.

The game features a combination of fast paced action and puzzle solving coupled with exploration modes. The player has a set of choices to make in order to progress through the game and these choices can play an important part in the outcome of the game. The games have a PEGI rating of 18 for strong language and violence that are shown vividly in the game. The Bioshock: Ultimate Rapture Edition is designed for the PS3 and comes with both Single Player campaign modes and an active Multiplayer mode as well.

Amazing!

Well, IGN already has some detailed and amazing reviews there for you. I have just started playing and it is a good game so far. After the Bioshock/Bioshock 2 games were "out of stock", this was a good chance to buy with a few goodies thrown in.

Buy it while stocks last.

Superb deal!! (sadly available no more)

i bought this for the PS3 for rs. 1475/-
Two of the best games of the generation, packed into one BD, with all the dlc and goodies included. One cant wish for a better deal.
The only downside maybe that the PS3 version doesnot come in as exotic a box as Xbox 360 version - but then again, that is because the X360 version comes on FOUR discs :P

There were a couple of stickers from Bioshock Infinite. I personally found them quite UNattractive, but they should hold some value for the Collector s...

Bioshock

Bioshock series added something that the fps did not have before a rich background story. I would recommend this product to anyone who enjoyes games, but beware... This does not posses your typical fps elements and is not a hard core shooter. It does also have some arcade elements, but above all else get it for it's story line.
