Bone is an epic comic book series about an unlikely hero who wants to save a blissful valley from the evil forces. The series centers on the Bone cousins, Phoney Bone, Smiley Bone and Fone Bone, from Boneville. The Great Cow Race is the 2nd book in the 9-volume Bone series.

Summary

The Great Cow Race is about Gran’ma Ben’s annual race against the cows of the town. She races against the cows on foot and always wins. Phoney and Smiley Bone are up to their usual mischief and they try to fix the race by creating a hype about a certain "Mystery Cow". This volume also sees Thorn discussing a recurring dream about a dragon with Fone Bone. The book also sees the brooding unrest between the Stupid Stupid Rat creatures and the valley folk.

About Jeff Smith

Jeff Smith is an American cartoonist best known for his comic book Bone. Jeff lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife. He received numerous awards for his work on Bone - ten Eisner Awards and eleven Harvey Awards. In 1995 and 1996, he won the National Cartoonists Society's award for Comic Books. Apart from Bone, he has also worked on the comic RASL and Tüki Save the Humans.
