About Tom M. Apostol

Tom M. Apostol was born in the year 1923 in Utah, USA. He is an analytic number theorist and university professor.

Apostol completed his PhD in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. He has since been a faculty member at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and California Institute of Technology. In 2001, he was elected to the Academy of Athens and became a fellow of the American Mathematical Society in 2012.
