This is an mathematical text to read if anyone wants a deep insight into the field of mathematics, and more specifically, calculus-based analysis. Tom Apostol uses several strategies in order to teach mathematics the "correct-way." Integration is taught before differentiation but this is to the student's benefit because the relation is established in an excellent way throughout the text.

Don't buy this book if you're just preparing for your college-curriculum. Buy it if you are very good in elementary mathematics and wann do much better in Pure Mathematics. This book is considered as a jewell-book in Maths. It develops skills in problem solving and proof. Only weak point of this book, for me, was that integration was started with method-of exhaustion and Riemann Integration is neglected. Otherwise, simple language and clear illustrations made me to recommend this for everyone.

It is a brilliant book with such a clarity that makes it the best book one shall possess. I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn calculus. The best thing about this book is that the reader need not remember any formula or any concept from school; it is a self contained book justifying everything.

This is an amazing book to understand fundamentals of calculus. It is crisp and concise, considering the depth to which it goes in explaining the underlying concepts.

Many people say that this book is too difficult, but if you understand how to do proofs this book is manageable. I really like the approach taken with this book, even though it is unintuitive. If you learn from this book you will have a very thorough understanding of calculus. I am about to go to the second volume.
