Was looking to buy this little lens since it released. Got a deal, grabbed it, been using it ever since. A quick review for anyone thinking of buying this:

Pros
- small and lightweight, perfect for travel.
- f2.8 is good enough for low light and general photography. So perfect for night shots
- fast focusing, sharp & clear images at par with 50mm (i did a lot of tests for this, trust me)

Cons
- No IS so videos can be shaky (post process comes to rescue here)
- Distorts (barrel) if captured ...

24 mm means Sharp images and fast focusing.doing grate job , good lende.

I've been using Canon photography gears for a very long time and have stocked various lens.
Canon 24mm f2.8 is an extremely sharp lens. My copy was mfd April 2017 and I even got warranty till Nov2019 !!
24mm EF-S is an excellent crop body and gives around 38mm wide which is good for casual photography, and is so light weight that you wouldn't feel it carrying with your dslr !!

Product is good, the only problem which i find is the fitting with camera, it's rigid not smooth. I've have other lens but none of one has this problem. I hope this is not a major issue if not crack one day

if you are travel freak.. then must have this lens! super cool to use easy to take anywhere..

I would recommend to buy...Makes your DSLR more useful with its small package... Pictures are quite sharp..But I expected slightly more for such a good build quality...

A very good lens at such a good cost. Good solution for people looking for a wide prime lens.

There are many reviews of this pancake Canon lens so i think there is no need to say much more about. Using it with Canon 77d.In short I will say that is great lens for portrait shots, closeups. In lowlights it also works well by its f/2.8 aperture just by increasing a little bit ISO of your camera. For recording videos it is also decent enough in auto focusing. Just it dosent have built in image stabilization, so uneed to switch on your camera stabilization. It can also take good bokeh photos.

Incredible Lens, I used to feel that 18-55 IS STM is pretty fast and crisp. But, This little lens is just amazing. Fast, Sharp, Great Low light performance, Good Enough Bokeh in majority of situations.
Also, It is so compact, that the usability of my camera has been increased.
Lastly, I was skeptic to buy it from RetailNet, always went to WSRetail in the past for a bit expensive stuff. But the product turns out to be genuine, Manufacturing is of August '16, month old only.

The prime lens does its job perfectly. Works very good in low light, focus speed is good, good for video making.
