The EOS 7D Mark II features the brand new 65-point all cross-type AF system. It is equipped with a larger AF area than most APS-C sensor cameras. The 65 AF points virtually cover the entire frame which leads to large improvement in accuracy even if the subject is in rapid motion. The central AF point is an f/2.8 dual cross-type point. This provides enhanced focus even in situations that have extremely low light where the luminance is as low as EV -3.
The EOS 7D Mark II features a blazing fast 55 milliseconds shutter release time lag and can clock continuous shooting speeds of up to 10 fps, all thanks to the all-new shutter and mirror mechanism. With such a fast burst-rate available at your fingertips, you will be able to capture sporting events, wildlife or even active children with enhanced precision and sharpness. The EOS 7D Mark II comes equipped with manually adjustable speeds to cater to your needs in situations where low-shooting speeds and capturing slower moving subjects is a must. Another impressive feature is the Silent Mode which uses the new mirror bounce reduction mechanism. This considerably reduces the noise emitted.
The EOS 7D Mark II has the capability of recording enhanced videos as it features the new Dual Pixel CMOS AF function. This feature ensures extremely fast autofocus and smooth subject tracking in Live View and movie recording mode. Using this new system, you will be able to constantly keep your subjects kept in focus even with erratic changes in their distance from the camera. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF featured here also enables the Movie Servo AF to deliver quiet focusing and tracking when paired with an STM lens.
