Description

The A1200 is point and shoot camera and falls in the PowerShot category of cameras from Canon. The camera is powered by DIGIC 4 processor and supports 4:3 aspect ratio. This 12.1 megapixel camera uses CCD sensor with dimension of 1/2.3 inch. This HD camera is one of the rare new point and shoot cameras to have a optical viewfinder. Body
This Canon camera weighs 137 g and has dimension of 97.5 x 62.5 x 30.7 mm. A user can use either the Real-image zoom Viewfinder or the 2.7-inch TFT color LCD to take pictures. The wide viewing angle display has resolution of 230,000 dot pixels. External memory can be added through memory card such as SD, SDHC, SDXC and MultiMediaCard (MMC), MMC Plus Card and HC MMC Plus Card. The camera has 2 AA Alkaline battery, which provides 200 pictures and 8 hours of playback time. Performance

Features and Connectivity
This Canon PowerShot camera comes with 6 artistic creative filters. The camera also has a new mode called Discreet mode that disables the sound of camera, Flash, and Auto Focus beam. When switched to Blur reduction mode, the camera reduces the blur in pictures. This PowerShot camera also has various other scene modes such as Portrait, Landscape, Kids, Pets, Smart Shutter, Low Light, Beach, Foliage, Snow, Fireworks, and Long Shutter.

The A1200 is capable of shooting HD videos at the resolution of 1280 x 720 - 24 fps. The camera supports JPEG image format and MOV movie format. Self timer can be set up with a 2 or 10 sec delay. The camera can shoot at 3.6 shots/sec in Blur Reduction and Low Light mode. For connectivity, the Canon A1200 PowerShot camera has USB 2.0.

This is an excellent camera.... A must buy for beginners...

Excellent Picture quality

Been using this for 6 months, Excellent Pic quality, It has some good functions and useless picture effects. The viewfinder is useful for for taking more pics with display turned off. Good battery life. The downside is the free charger that comes with it, it wont show when battery is done charging. But hey the camera is ore worth than its price. Also i forgot to mention, i noticed the flash charging is a bit longer than the camera's my friend has, but since i rarely use flash, i don't find it...

Best Deal.... For every day photography

I had been searching for a cost effective camera and my search ended here!... @ the a price of Rs 4360/-
The camera is really a marvel in its capabilities. It is loaded with various creative functions, as well as the P mode allows you to 've a decent amount of control over the photography. The camera is also ergonomically designed.
It also gives a combined zoom of 16x!.... Even though it lacks IS technology, it is counteracted with the 2 sec self timer option.

i prefer A1200 ,have one with me,purchased 3 weeks ago( sorry not from here...). did a lot of research before buying this camera. if you want a good low budget camera ( below INR 4500) this is the best option.

bang for your bucks!!

Recently i went on a trek and borrowed this camera from a friend to click pictures.
Frankly i did not expect much from the device bcz of, well however it looks like ..
but trust me on this u can never go wrong with this camera shooting landscapes in good daylight even in it's auto mode..
I will not cover it's night pic taking abilities (hello,look at the price!!). This is just perfect little camera to take to places where u wud not want to go with ur bulky slr's. Plus it's a boon for beginn...

Best for every day as well as Special day Photography

I was a little bit choosy for deciding which one to buy as my first Digital Camera.
As their were so many 'well known' Brand Cameras available in 3K-5K Price range (As my budget price is 5K) it takes some time to research on other user's reviews.

Now after using it for 10 days or so, I am rating it 4.5 Out of 5.

Just buy it... But say a complete no no to free batteries...

All i wanted was a simple camera which i can use very casually. So, while i was searching for one, i put these factors as criteria for shortlisting:

1. Cost
2. Brand (Nikon/Canon)
3. Light Weight
4. Looks

Canon 1200 topped the list! Then i didn't waste even a single moment. Flipkart, as usual, delivered the product right on time.
When i bought this, in July, the price was around 3800 Rs. And, yes, it is light weight as well. I got a black one and i feel that's the sexiest one among all.....
