Description

The Canon SX130 IS falls in the PowerShot family of digital cameras. The 12.1 megapixel point and shoot camera uses CCD sensor with dimensions of 1/2.3 inch. Powered by DIGIC 4 image processor, this camera supports 4:3 aspect ratio. This Canon digital camera is capable of shooting 720p HD videos (1280 x 720 at 30 fps) with Stereo sound. Body
The point and shoot camera weighs 308 g and has dimensions of 113.3 x 73.2 x 45.8 mm. The 3-inch TFT color LCD display has wide viewing angle and has resolution of 230,000 dot pixels. External memory can be added on this camera through SD, SDHC and SDXC memory card or MultiMediaCard, MMCplus card, and HC MMCplus card. The 2 AA alkaline batteries included in this camera can take up to 130 pictures. Performance
The Lens included in this camera has Focal range of 5 - 60 mm and has Aperture range of F/3.4 - 5.6. The SX130 IS has 12x Optical Zoom and 4x Digital Zoom. The TTL contrast detection Auto Focus has minimum range of 1 cm (Wide) and 1 m (Tele). The camera has various focusing modes such as Single, Continuous, Servo AF/AE.

The Auto sensitivity of the camera ranges from ISO 80 - 1600. The total shutter speed range of the camera is 15 - 1/2500 sec. The camera uses a built-in Flash, which has range of 50 cm - 3.0 m (Wide) and 1.0 m - 2.0 m (Tele). The Smart Flash Exposure feature allows the camera to rectify Flash setting according to situation.

Features and Connectivity
This Canon PowerShot camera features a new scene mode called Miniature Effect, which gives a look of a scene shot with miniature models. The Advanced Smart AUTO feature detects and analyses the surrounding and select a setting from the 28 predefined shooting situations. The camera uses lens shift type image stabilization to reduce blur in images.

The point and shoot camera supports MOV movie format and JPEG image format. The camera also has Face detection technology and Self timer mode with 2 or 10 seconds delay. The connectivity options in the Canon SX130 IS include USB 2.0.

Nikon L120 VS Canon PowerShot SX130 IS

Dear guys,
I was Having Nikon L120 but now i shifted to Canon PowerShot SX130 IS.

Comparison

1. The pics in the Night(Low Light) are more clear in Canon compared to Nikon

2. The software used in lower version of Nikon "L" series cameras (L22, L24, etc.) is also used in Nikon L120. There in only difference is L120 comes with 21X zoom.

3. There is Stabilizer in Canon PowerShot SX130 IS which is absent in Nikon L120. The stabilizer in canon helps you to get clear pics in low light, where L12...

Mega-zoom, Excellant choice for the price

This is a series of cameras from Canon I had been following for the last couple of years. Finally I have my hands on it!
Flipkart did a great job with processing this order and it was promptly delivered. The packaging was great and I am sure did its job in protecting the camera in transit.

Basic DSLR camera

I have bought this camera 6 months before, result is excellent .You can take photo with back ground blur.Most important thing is camera flsh is very powerful.Its very user friendly.Its just a mini DSLR camera and one more thing video calrity is awesome .

Its the best cam in this price range..!!

I am using this camera since 6 months ....

Good Points:
-good picture quality upto ISO 800
-Manual Exposure controls really helps (makes u creative)
-excellent clarity 720p HD stereo sound movie mode
-AA batteries (always easy to carry an xtra pair)
-good battery life 250 shots (NiMH battries)
-great zoom reach (its enough 4 many purposes)

Bad Points:
-flash 2 flash time (sometimes almost 5 seconds)
-for girls(the dont like the big size and the wieght)

Really unbeatable at this price

Canon Powershot sx 130 IS is an unbeatable camera in this price range, picture quality is really good, lots of manual adjustable functions are there, so if you want to experiment with your skill or learn about photography then its a best for you. Though there are some limitations as well
1. flash takes time to recharge
2. processor is slow i.e. if you take photo in other than easy mode it takes too much time (nearly 10 seconds) for next photo to shoot

affordable yet powerful!!!

Five point something about this camera...
1. Sharp image quality with super zoom lens!!
2. HD (720p) is superb, miniature effect is also great.
3. no HS technology so u'll get night image not as clear as other canon digicams with HS..
4. Miro focus is great, you can click picture of micro things like leaf, sand particles, etc
5. superior build quality and beautiful design makes u flaunt infront of everybody!!!!

Superb Cam for amateurs...LOW PRICE TOO!

After weeks worth of research on which cam to buy in this price range of 12000-15000, found this one to be good. And truly it lives up to the expectation. Its just excellent, and for this price, nothing comes close. Here's what i noted:
-image stabilization is bang-on.
-comes with lots of modes to shoot in, so u can really make the most of a scene.
-pretty good zoom.

Best for this price

For the price, it's the best one available in market now. Great deal is it is offering full manual controls. What let me down with canon is the purple fringing around subject edges. Am looking onto fujifilm HS 20 as it's having a cmos sensor, but if you are just looking for a super-zoom p&s, SX130 is the best choice.

Must Buy Canon PowerShot SX130 IS Point & Shoot

I purchased this cam from flipkart 01 year past and has took approx. 3000 pictures yet and numerous videos. I received this as desired in good condition and function of this product is very easy and having good performance. Smile shoot attracts be more, so I am not missing smiley face of my kids.Picture and color quality is very nice. Overall, a good buy for personal and casual use.

Though not bought this product through Flipkart, Canon SX130is is the BEST Camera to buy.

I bought my Canon power-shot Sx130IS in Dec 2010.

Well i would rate/name this camera as a Pre-DSLR (or) an Pro-digital camera..
Its Advisable to buy this camera if u have -
1) Passion for Photography.
2) love zoom and shoot photography
3) Have Ideas to buy DSLR later or Soon.
4) if u don't have enough money to buy a DSLR and want to have a compact DSLR like handling.
