D., Trained in Medical Terminology, National Medical Library, New Delhi, Published by Smt. Shantilata Swain. Most of us are not very much acquainted with medical terminology in Odia language. It is often a problem for us to understand the exact meaning of this diseases and the term used by the doctors. This motivated me to compile a Medical Dictionary in Odia language which would serve the purpose of patients, health care providers and general public at large. All the words are arranged in alphabetical order. Definitions of the medical terms are explained in simple and understandable language both in English and Odia. For this, I have consulted many reference sources like medical text books, reference books and variety of dictionaries. I have also taken the help of academicians and medical professionals from different disciplines. This book does not cover the whole range of medical terminology, but an attempt has been made to include most of the terminology which are frequently used in common medical practice.
