The Country Without A Post Office (English, Paperback, Ali Agha Shahid)
The Country without a Post Office is an anthology of poems written by Agha Shahid Ali.
Summary of the Book
This searing collection evokes the tragedy of the poet’s birthplace. It also shows his immense love and concern for his people. In this seminal work of poetry, Shahid Ali has created poems of extraordinary virtuosity, which are formally precise, soaked in history, myth and politics, and intensely musical. His longing for his homeland, and his return to Kashmir and the savagery forced upon it resonate in most of his poems. Amidst Rain and Fire and Ruin and In a Land of Doomed Addresses are some of the most poignant works that will stay with you forever.
