About the Author

For someone who didn’t grow up with the aim to become a children’s author, Jeff Kinney has certainly come a long way. After graduating from the University of Maryland, Jeff wanted to get his comic strip Idgoof syndicated in the campus newspaper. But, alas, that never happened as fate had other plans for him. In 1998, Jeff started penning ideas for Diary of a Wimpy Kid with the hopes of turning it into a book. Today, Diary of a Wimpy Kid has sold over 200 million copies worldwide, earning Jeff the prestigious Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award for Favourite book six times. Some of his other famous works include Lunar Colony and The Secret Society, among others. Currently, Jeff lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two sons.
