DOMO nScribe Scribble Pad is a series of eWriters which use a special display to imitate the feel of reading and writing on paper. It’s a step towards replacing paper as a reading and note taking device. Earlier attempts to replace paper with LCD faced a lot of challenges since LCD required a lot of power to operate, it was backlit hence causing a lot of strain on the eye and the reflection created by the shiny surface would making it harder to read in high ambient lightning. The nScribe Scribble Pad successfully overcomes these earlier challenges – it requires extremely low power to operate, since it is not backlit, it does not put strain on the eye and the display has high friction matte surface which gives the feel of writing on paper. The nScribe Scribble Pad even offers sunlight readability with minimal light reflection off the display and just like paper, you can get high readability from all angles. It’s the perfect time to go paperless and draw your design, doodle ideas, write notes, make lists & leave messages without using paper or pen. The nScribe Scribble Pad comes with a simple stylus which is not electronically operated – which means you can use just about any object as a stylus as long as it doesn’t scratch the surface of the screen. The pressure sensitive screen of the nScribe Scribble Pad lets you create strokes of varying width depending upon the pressure you apply. The nScribe Scribble Pad 85 is only 4.5mm thick and has a screen size of 8.5 inch diagonally. It operates on a replaceable 3v lithium coin battery which should last for around 12 to 18 months (or 50,000 erases). The Scribble Pad 85 is ergonomically designed and it smartly tucks its stylus inside a niche in its housing. It even has a hole to insert the stylus and use it as a kick stand to display your note or illustration. On the back there is a sheet of magnet which lets you use the Scribble Pad 85 as a sticky note on your fridge or any metal surface.
