If you want to understand the basics on the subject, this book is worth buying.

The book works from the Mechanical Engineering aspect and the Civil Engineering students would be disappointed because the Fracture Mechanics of quasi brittle materials like concrete has got hardly any attention in the book.

For the linear and non linear fracture mechanics, which should suffice the mechanical engineers, this book is a treat. It has lots of solved examples and design data which would be very help...

Personally, I would recommend this book for anyone who would like to study fracture mechanics. The explanation, pattern and language is clear and easy to understand.

The best added advantage about this book is that:

2. Appropriate diagrams in conjunction to the theory helping to understand the concept very well.

this book is for children,who dont know what is fracture lol. may be good for bTEch students definately NO for Higher degree students.
