Description
Insej brings you a wooden replica of Thrikkakara appan made by talented carpenters following traditional customs. Our Thrikkakara appan is a wood pyramid structure with four faces and a flat top used during Onam celebrations. This unique structure represents Vamana, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. For some people, the pyramid represents both King Maveli and Vishnu. It is also referred to as Onathappan. While welcoming King Mahabali to the homes, people place Thrikkakara Appan on a bed made of rice flour and is decked with flowers and pujas are performed. It is also placed along with the Athapookalam - the special floral arrangement done during Onam. Each structure is made of good quality wood which will remain safe for a long period of time. Holes are provided at suitable places for placing fresh Flowers. Dimensions: idols of 35 cm, 42 cm and 40 cm height respectively.
