I bought this book for academic purpose, as for UPTU Syllabus this book is truly helpful (specially for first 3 unit, you may need to refer Korth as well for last 2 units of UPTU DBMS subject syllabus), if you are a IT/CS student of Engineering.
If its not a core subject for you, then I would not recommend this book.

This is ultimately one of the few books available in the market which truly covers the entire fundamentals of DBMS. I just wanted to buy a simple book for this subject but instead I got more than what I bargain for. Although this is not the type of book that you get what you read in one go, with patience and dedication you will find DBMS interesting and easy with this book. For those who are already familiar with DBMS you will find this book to be truly helpful.

This is a very good book for the beginners.... the explanations provided on all the topics are enough for the students... broad coverage of topics and easy to understand & learn....
