This book is a very interesting read, though personally I didnt find it an easy one, specially when compared to Heywood's other works like ideologies. So not sure if this is the best book to get introduced to theory of IR. Nevertheless, this is one book you'd like to get your hands on eventually for sheer excellence with which it approaches various contemporary issues. It gives a very dispassionate and unbiased opinion, and never shies away to criticize US policies whereever need be.

This is one of the best book for PSIR optional on international relations. Language is awesome .
