The book is an exclusively genuine biography on Humayun, the eldest son of Babur, by his step sister Gulbadan Begum, written on the request of Emperor Akbar as he wanted a sort of record for Abul Fazl, his own historian, to read before he embarked on writing the Akbar Nama.
