As students and researchers, we have learnt a lot about the history of India. There has been a lot of history written by people who have either experienced it, or heard their fair share of stories from those who have experienced it. In this book, Francois Gautier has put in his efforts to explain to his readers the Indian history as it really happened.

Summary of the Book

History is changing everyday according to the new archeological and linguistic discoveries that are happening. Therefore, it is always being rewritten, and there is always an addition to every story. Learning about our history helps the children of India learn about their roots, and get an understanding of who they really are. A lot of our history has been written by European colonizers, and many Indian historians have failed to give out the truth behind these stories, and accepted and supported it as they were told by the European colonizers. Some examples of the theories that have gone wrong are: the Aryan invasion which divided India and how it resulted in conflict between North and South India, Aryans against Dravidians, and Untouchables against Brahmins. This book attempts to lay out certain foundations for Indian Historians of the next generation.

About Francois Gautier

Francois Gautier is a writer and journalist based in India. He was born in France and came down to India when he was nineteen years old. His first eight years in India were spent in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Auroville, Tamil Nadu.
