Sony manufactured these discs. But the build quality leaves something to be desired. The outer cardboard box is tough and strong but the inner bluray box was damaged, for me. Also the box art's print quality is bad. But chances are i got a bad batch and you might get one of the better ones.
EDIT: @Renny Abraham: To clarify, i am talking about the print quality of the slip cover of the case, not the outer box, which is nicely embossed and has a 3D cover.

The product Is not as described and in the product image. The extended edition came without the lenticular cover, also the case of the blu ray is blue unlike the original which is black for this collectors edition. Also the case was without the plastic shrink wrap, it was open and dusty.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Hobbit in the theatre and knew that I had to get the Extended Edition as soon as it came out. I decided to go for the 3D bluray set, which comes with 5 discs, because of it Lenticular box cover. The box set includes the 3D version of the movie in two discs, the 2D version, and Appendices 7 and 8 in separate discs, all bluray.
