As this processor is I7-4770k k stands for Unlocked hence you can overclock this processor.i used asus Z87-pro as the motherboard for my build.with a good cooling solution this can reach speeds of about 4.8GHz top 10% of people can reach almost upto 5GHz(4.9GHz would be safe to say i guess)..

Both processors i have been running at stock speeds, at they are pretty much the same for my workloads and also the speed. phenom 2 1100t @ 3.3ghz turbo 3.7ghz and the i7 4770k @ 3.5ghz and turbo 3.9ghz

Beast processor, works like magic. got it just last week , good service by flipkart. I have a msi z87 mpower motherboard and even without over clocking it goes to 3.9 ghz while doing heavy processing. Really recommend for mid range buyers for heavy processing and gaming.
