  • Description

26th November, 2008 – A tragedy that fails to fade from the mind of any Indian or foreigner, especially those present in Mumbai on that bloody day. A group of ten gunmen were responsible for mindless slaughter, and this was followed by at least 60 hours of utter chaos and distress. This book chronicles the happenings of that ill-fated day, but most of all, it explains the birth of a ‘new butcher’.

    Summary of the Book

The 26/11 attacks reminded the world that the threat of terrorism will continue. Even though many years have passed, the scars of the horrific day still remain. There were many reports about the event in newspapers and news channels, and there was even a movie based on the episode. However, none of these reports have mentioned enough about one person who knew, participated and saw more of the attack than anyone could imagine: Ajmal Amir Kasab. We have been told that Kasab was just like all the other recruits of those who plotted the attack, but is that all we need to know about this man? Kasab: The Face of 26/11 puts together the convict's whole life and how he came to be. As a little boy, even Kasab would not have thought that he would be remembered for the reasons that he is today. The narrative has traced the footsteps of Kasab from Pakistani villages and cities to the PoK. It talks about the terrorist-training camps, the modes of transport that were used by the Pakistani militant, the Indian vessel that was hijacked from the Mumbai shores, and Kasab’s capture and captivity. Through hardcore investigative journalism, this book informs us of the careful planning and organization that led to the brutal bloodshed of 26/11.

    Impressive book..

The plot and storyline is intellectually and emotionally overwhelming, however the detailing of the camps, the training, the localities and roads, is so much vivid and exhaustive it raises the question, how much of it is verifiable or is it mostly fictional account.

    Well Narrated

Well narrated-incident by incident. The pains taken by the author for collecting informations is really commendable. Dont how he got such informations in such a hostile environment. It describes the very first anti-social activity of the Kasab & how he stepped up to such a dreadful terrorist. Each chapter gives us event by event incidents from his childhood. The author have struck a right balance in the narration without showing any emotions. We are stunned by seeing how our neighbour make a ...

    Amazing

Got this book when I heard that a movie was being made on this event, and it turned out to be such a astounding narration. We all generally know what happened couple of years ago, but the recreation of the events is really worth reading.
