TRULY AWESOME LAPTOP!!

I bought this laptop from a local dealer and i must say that it is just mind blowing.
I got the GT750m version with the 1366x768 screen(not a big letdown in my view)
Single graphics card i capable of playing all games at max settings..I have played black ops2,GTA 4,AC3,Dishonred,Max Payne 3 and fifa 13....all of these worked flawlessly..
I even hooked up my laptop on my Full HD LCD and all the games did not stutter a bit..
got a continous fps of around 60 in all games..
I am really impressed ...

After months of research.. Finally took the dive :)

I bought a Y500 several days ago from a retail outlet in Dwarka.
Simply put, it is a very good machine.. Much better than my 3 year old Acer 5745G anyway (to be expected I suppose!)

My rating would ideally be a 4.5 star.

I am an industrial design student and needed a laptop with good specifications for applications such as 3D modelling, rendering, Photoshop/Illustrator with some After Effects thrown in with the occasional gaming, and I have to say, this has met my expectations beautifully. ...

Not interested in Y510p

1) My cousin (using Y510p) thought he could run GTA1V at med settings on a 1080p screen. Unfortunately he could only play it on low settings which looks terrible even on 1080p FHD.
2) I play the same GTA 1V on my Y500 on High setting which is buttery smooth for obvious reasons. It has a 1366x768 native resolution.

Also in real time I dont see any difference in performance between y510p and y500, except for a FHD screen ofc. Not to forget the former costs more.
Y510p overall is a bit bette...

Y500 is good but misleading reviews about y510 are present in this thread!!

I ordered a Y510p Laptop from flipkart. I got it delivered 2.5 days after ordering.

Before buying this laptop i was in a dilema; y500 or y510p?
differences are: processor(Haswell - better than y500), graphics card(755m which is better than 750) and HD screen. I was unaware about the difference HD screen made. as soon as i got this laptop in my hand, i clearly understood what HD meant. Once you Go for HD and you're never going to settle for anything less. So if you have a flexible budget, go ...

Capable of competing with ROG, Alienware and MSI beasts

If you want a gaming laptop you should consider a few key points
Alienware 14x is not as good as this one if you look at pure specs. If you want the logo then no need to be checking the review section.
Asus ROG isn't coming to India any time soon.
MSI GS70 or Razer Blade, I wouldn't count on them coming to the indian market in the coming years as well.
Samsung Series 7, still no word on their release in India.
HP, Dell (not counting the Alienware line), Toshiba, any brand that I may have for...

GAME ON !!!!

The laptop I received is awesome !!! Worth the buck spent.
The NVIDIA Geforce 750 makes every gaming experience worth it. I have already tried Maxpayne 3, battlefield 3, tombraider 3 on ultra high graphics and all run smooth. Regarding the heating problem that I previously had in mind, well, tough the heat could be felt, it wasn't significant enough.
In love with the gaming beast !!!

Great laptop for decent gaming.

I purchased this lappy from lenovo store.
I've got 5000 rupees voucher with this.

PROS
1) HD+ display
2) Backlit keyboard
3) Decent graphic card.
4) Less weight.
5) Normal heating.
6) JBL speakers.
7) Aluminum finish

Cons
1) Gfx card is not that good. High end games( like crysis 3 on ultra settings ) on this laptop are just PLAYABLE ( i.e. ~30 fps ), but this is obvious for a laptop.
2) No scroll and pinch touchpad.
3) Ultrabay sli is not available in India. So, you cannot install seco...

best budget gaming laptop

If you are on a budget and you are looking for a gaming laptop, look no further.
There are other cheaper laptops with similar specs (similar but not the same) like Toshiba, asus and acer, but they all have 1 issue or the other like the battery of Toshiba dosent last an HD movie and asus has heating issues.

But the best thing about this is that its the only laptop that offers a 2gb ddr5 gpu at this price range.

And its not very flashy or fancy stuff. It can be used as a gaming laptop and at ...
