According to me, this book is a must read for everyone who likes to read. Even though I have read the translation of this book, I wanted to read the original one and bought this one. Just go for it! Don't think twice!
Amazing, amazing literary work! I have nothing but the utmost respect for Victor Hugo after reading this book. Simply WOW!!! The way that each scene is described and beautifully written is nothing short of perfect.

A microcosm of 19th century france.
There need be no further discourses on Victor Hugo's Les Misérables. It is already accepted as a classic in western literature. Albeit, though the length of the book is quite long, the soul of the book appeals to all readers with its discussion about poverty, righteousness and the impact of society on individuals. A patient and enthusiastic reader will be rewarded.

Victor Hugo classic. Highly emotional,highly entertaining and very useful for the young also.
I read it about two decades ago. It remains one of the best books I have read. Very educative and full of human interest. I read it again now and it continues to inspire.
