Speed and comfort are the 2 main attributes that should be present in a gaming mouse to have a memorable experience every time. With the Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 7 gaming mouse, you will be getting all this and a lot more. The Mad Catz Cyborg is a laser mouse and is packed with a ton of features. Targeted towards hard-core gamers, the mouse is designed to give gamers that competitive edge over others. The Cyborg mouse is compatible with a variety of operating systems such as Windows 7, Vista, XP and the Mac OS.
Body
The Cyborg R.A.T. 7 has a unique and unusual design. Everybody has a different way of holding a mouse. Some may hold it in such a way that it easily fits into the palm of their hand, or some may have a claw hold over the mouse. Targeting this problem, the Mad Catz Cyborg is built in such a way that is comfortable for everyone, no matter how they hold the mouse. The mouse has a screw on its rear end that can be adjusted to slide the palm rests, giving you optimum comfort.
The mouse has a variety of customization options. From palm rests to even the pinkie finger grips, you can adjust and even replace the grips as per your convenience. The different types of palm rests include normal one with a soft-touch texture, rubber grip model and the enhanced version of the normal one that is 4 mm thicker. The thumb panel can be titled to produce different heights and angles. You can move the panel up or down using the hex key available at the rear end of the mouse.
Built with light-weight metal chassis, the Cyborg has an ergonomic build. The Mad Catz has 7 buttons in total. These include the normal left- and right-click buttons along with a scroll wheel. 3 buttons are placed on the left side of the mouse, just where you place the thumb. The dpi rocker is etched behind the scroll wheel. You need not worry about the mouse cable getting entangled as the Mad Catz Cyborg comes with a long braided USB cable.
The Cyborg has a weight-tuning system. This feature allows you to add or subtract weight from the mouse. Present at the rear of the mouse, the weight-in system allows you to add up to 30 g of extra weight. The weight-tuning system is an excellent addition as it helps in fine-tuning your skills while playing FPS games. The mouse has PTFE feet that aid in smoother movement of the mouse. You can easily connect the mouse to your computer through a USB port.
Performance
You can easily switch the dpi settings on the mouse using the dpi rocker. This is helpful during gaming tournaments when you have to quickly switch controls between games. The Cyborg has 5 programmable buttons that allow you to set custom controls on the mouse and use them as you deem fit.
3 Cyborg modes have also been included in the Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 7. The Cyborg mode combines the custom dpi settings and different buttons configurations to create a unique mode for each game, assisting in optimum gameplay. You can make your enemies kiss the ground with the precision of a professional assassin as the mouse comes with a Precision Aim mode.
The Mad Catz gaming mouse is equipped with a staggering 6400 dpi. The wide dpi range helps in quicker movement of the mouse. The R.A.T. 7 has 1000 Hz polling, giving you a 1 ms response time. Power fluctuations won’t be a bother with the Cyborg mouse as it has a gold-plated USB connector. The mouse is built with a twin-eye laser sensor, giving it precise tracking capabilities.
While playing FPS games, especially online, you need a lot of patience as you have to wait to nail the perfect shot. The Mad Catz Cyborg has an Always On mode that enables the mouse to not go idle. This feature is very essential as you can easily neutralize the enemy with one click, no matter how long the mouse has been kept without movement. You can use the mouse on almost any surface, without any difficulty.
