The images of Malcolm X will be the first major photographic work on Malcolm X's life. Drawing on literally dozens of sources, many of them little known, this book presents over 150 photographs of Malcolm, ranging from his life on the streets of Boston and New York, to his life within the nation of Islam and his travels around the world. From his role as husband and father to his dynamic power as a speaker before thousands, Malcolm's world private and public - will be presented in text and images. The book will follow the evolution of Malcolm's life from his childhood through his assassination in 1965 and in so doing, it will mirror the experiences of many African Americans from the 1930s to the 1960s.
