Work is stressful enough without adding uncomfortable and cumbersome computer peripherals to deal with. Making some changes to your work environment will improve your production and you will get more done without feeling overworked. After the immense success of the Windows operating system, Microsoft branched into making computer peripheral that would complement the Windows operating system and make using computers a delight.
The Microsoft ARC Keyboard is designed to be the perfect companion to your computer as it lets you work and play without any boundaries and restrictions. The clean and modern design of the ARC Keyboard gives it a futuristic feel that you’ll be proud to display to your friends and guests. This compact keyboard can be carried around and used comfortably within a radius around the transceiver. The Microsoft ARC Keyboard connects to your computer by way of a Nano transceiver that fits into a USB 2.0 port. The wireless ARC keyboard and the transceiver works on a 2.4 GHz radio frequency that ensures everything you key into the keyboard will be actuated on screen.
Style and Portability
The Microsoft ARC Keyboard has dimensions of 331 x 153.9 x 21.6 mm and weighs only 351 g which makes it easy and comfortable to take the keyboard anywhere. When transporting the keyboard all you have to remember is to disconnect the transceiver and store it safely in the stowage area under the ARC Keyboard. This lightweight ARC keyboard does not have a Num Pad in order to reduce the footprint of the keyboard. The QWERTY Keys have a lifespan of 5,000,000 actuations per key and is designed to be durable.
Performance
The transceiver of the Microsoft ARC Keyboard has a reliable wireless radius of 9 metres or 30 feet within which you can use the keyboard to work or play. The Microsoft ARC Keyboard works best with computers that run Windows 7, Vista, XP or Mac OS X (version 10.4 or higher). The Function Keys F1 to F6 are paired up with Function Keys F7 to F12 and depending on when you need them you can activate them by pressing the Fn key in the bottom right corner. You can also connect the Microsoft ARC Keyboard to chat on the Microsoft XBOX 360.
To switch the Microsoft ARC Keyboard off all you have to do is press and hold the Fn key along with the Escape Key until the battery light changes. The green battery light will flash 3 times before it goes off, and when you turn it on there will be a long green flash. When the battery light flashes red it means the battery in the ARC keyboard is running low. You can mute, increase or decrease the volume directly from the keyboard by using the volume control keys located on the top right corner.
Battery and Other Features
The Microsoft ARC Keyboard uses 2 AAA alkaline batteries to power itself and under normal circumstances, the batteries will last up to 18 months. The battery light will turn red when it is time to replace your batteries with a pair of fresh ones. The minimum system requirements to install this keyboard are a computer with USB 2.0 port, Windows or Mac OS. The Microsoft ARC Keyboard gives you the freedom to choose where you work from whether at the work desk or just lying down on the couch. You can connect the keyboard either to your desktop or laptop at home or work to make typing a pleasant experience.
