The sturdy in-body 5-axis VR image stabilization ensures that you get clear and beautiful photos with every click. This camera has up to five stops of image stabilization in up to five directions which are pitch, yaw, roll, X, and Y. Furthermore, while recording videos, the optical VR is combined with the electronic VR (e-VR). As a result, you get steady shots.

With the Nikon FT-Z Adapter, you can use any Nikkor lenses with this camera.

With this camera, you can record cinematic 16:9 4K UHD/30p video in full-frame videos with the total width and resolution, thanks to its backside-illuminated sensor.

The 273 on-sensor AF points ensure that approximately 90% of the frame is covered horizontally and vertically. As a result, the subjects are quickly acquired when they enter the frame, and also, it tracks the subject throughout the frame even to the edges.

This camera uses an AF algorithm that is optimised for the FX-format sensor to automatically switch between the focal-plane phase-detect AF and contrast-detect AF to the fine-tune focus. Also, the light-shielding phase detection pixels are arranged carefully on the sensor that results in preserving light while ensuring accurate AF in dim-light conditions.

While shooting at an eye-level with the EVF or in Live View using the LCD, the Auto Area AF automatically and smoothly tracks the subject's face even in a crowd. This system also concentrates on the upper body to maintain focus position even when the subject turns away or moves out of view of the camera for a brief period.

Using the SnapBridge version 2.5, one can use a compatible smartphone to remotely monitor and control the camera. Using the smartphone, you can touch focus as well as adjust various settings, such as exposure mode, white balance, etc. Then fire the shutter to click photos.

This camera is powered by the EN-EL 15b battery that can be charged with a standard USB-C connection. So, you can charge the camera using your computer, a wall outlet and/or any other charging device.

Using a Wi-Fi network connection, this camera can be connected to a personal computer or Mac to transfer JPEG, RAW, and movie files. There are two modes - Camera Access Point Mode and Station (STA) Mode. Using the Camera Access Point Mode, you can directly connect the camera to your PC. Whereas, using the Station Mode, you can connect over a router.

You can shoot up to 12 FPS at the full resolution using the Hi+ Mode (12-bit RAW or JPEG) without an external battery pack. As a result, you can capture clear images even of moving subjects.

Controlling the light becomes easy with a compatible Nikon Speedlight. You can also use the optional WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller to wirelessly control the SB-5000 Speedlights from a different room, around various corners, and/or outdoors in the bright sunlight. Using the optically controlled Speedlights, such as SB-700 and SB-500, you can activate the advanced wireless lighting.
