    Simply Excellent!!

I bought this book around 10+ years back and it sparked in me an interest for the ever turbulent region of the middle east. However I might as well warn the reader ... this book does not read itself. If you work on the history and clear your understanding of what happened in history you will thoroughly enjoy this book. Dominique lapierre and Larry Collins have done an excellent work. It is an interesting, emotional and historically accurate read. This review has sparked my interest yet again....

History with all the trappings of fiction- Must Read

I just wish all historians were like Collins and Lapierre. How interesting the subject would have been! O Jerusalem is a book that deserves to be ranked among the best. The admiration I had for the authors after reading Freedom at Midnight has been doubled with this classic. Simultaneously satisfying history students and fiction lovers, the book is quite evidently the result of a rigorous research carried out by authors. Never in my earlier encounters with history books, I felt the overwhelmi...

THE STRUGGLE FOR ISRAEL - IT DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS. SPLENDID!

    WOW!

This book is a treasure and you must give it the best place in your book shelf. It is a solid work of history and no other book based on the 1948 Arab Israeli war comes near. Almost every actor of the war, Israeli and Arab, has been mentioned.

The language is spell-binding (I spent a lot of time copying beautiful sentences and phrases. One example is that of a rainy scene which the author goes on to describe, "while jagged streaks of lightning lashed the sky a deluge hammered the cit...

History with an eye on the Dramatic

Have been reading this book again & again for the last decade and it never ceases to amaze me.
Wonderful narration and lucid presentation. The characters grow on you with every page read. You can feel the emotions running through the chapters and the character build up is fantastic. Every major character in the drama is well rounded and his story gripping. A highly recommended book for those who read simply for the love of good prose.

Good Seller (WS Retail), Bad Publishing Company

I bought the book 'O Jerusalem' from WS Retail and got it delivered to me right in time.
The book was one which I read when I was a kid but I purchased it since I wanted to keep it as a personal copy. When I (re)read the book, I found out a number of errors in the book - repetition of some pages and omission of some. Typos are things I overlook as they tend to occur in publishing sector but the errors which I found out were way beyond the safe zone a publishing company could make, for a best...

Best for someone with interest in world history

great read for someone who wants to know about the birth of Israel and the struggle for the holy city of jerusalem, The writer quite effectively shows both sides of the divide without taking any sides. Although the book is a little bit long but never boring. A little bit disappointed with the quality of the book though, the binding is kind of coming apart at one or two places.

    Great Read!!!

Isreal and Jews were always my favourite subject. This interest made me go for this book.
It took me 15 days to complete the book, all through these 15 days i have experienced a different world. Used to jump on to the book every night, read line by line very carefully and understand every thing. The way authors wrote this book made me to visualise what exactly had happened during that time.

A great read and would not mind reading it agasin and again.

    Great book!!!

I was hesitant in buying the book but it was review of Puneet that propelled me to buy it and I would say I made a great selection
If anyone wishes to find out how Israel was formed through so many hardships. It is faceoff between Abdul Khader Hussaini and David Shaltiel. Face of between General Abdullah Tell and the greatest father of nation any country can have David Ben Gurion. The most inspiring personality of Golda Meir, the one who came to US with ten dollars and returned by 25 million ...
