Flipkart delivered my Olympus 8-16 x 40 Zoom DPS I Binocular within 5 days of placing the order.
This is my first binocular so I had done a bit of search on the internet before ordering. Comparable brands with similar product have a slightly higher price but I was not sure if I wanted to pay extra money for seemingly slight differences in technical specifications. I am using these binoculars along with the Olympus 8x40 and the 10x50 and I must say I am quite satisfied with these. At first I was annoyed with the huge 'blind spot' at 16x zoom until I discovered that the maximum zoom will work best for subjects at least 200-300 meters away. The image also gets a bit darker and fuzzy at 16x making me wish for a larger objective lens. It is still useful for identifying those birds and animals on the other side of the lake. Pros
Optics are good and the Binoculars is easy to use and adjust.
Cons
The zoom in this Binoculars is very effective between 8 to 16x. And when it zoom is increased to higher limits the image quality reduces and there is red ting added to the image.

Over all a good Binocular for field trips and Treks.

Crystal clear views, easy to focus and change magnification. A very good buy at this price if you are looking for a mid range pair of binoculars. Good for wildlife viewing even over open plains and long distances.

My first binocular and I am really happy with it. Though a bit on the heavier side, it give good quality for a budget buy. Usually I use it at 10x magnification which is good enough for wildlife watching. The image size reduces quite a bit on 16x zoom so use that sparingly. A big let down is that no straps are provided on the rubber caps, easy to lose them if one is not careful.

I ordered this product immediately after i returned from my trip to Bharatpur Bird reserve.....my guide there was using Olympus 8X40 DPS I and my view and trip was amazinig with the product....i decided to get one for me as the same is very useful for a person fond of touring like me...but i opted for 8-16X40 DPSI as it sounds an advance version of the same i used.....i got it without delay on the 2nd day of order....thats for what Flipkart is know....i opned the product and found it amazing ...

Really worth every penny you spend. Its an amazing binocular with super Zoom, Crisp view. This is the best binocular in the range of 5K. when you compare with 10X50 most of the time 8-16X40 stands out except during night. During night time 50mm diameter lense of 10x50 can pull a little bit more light than 8-16X40. If you are a start gazer this may not be for you. But when you look in all perceptive he is a champion.

I was thinking of buying the Olympus Trooper 8 x 40 Binocular from past 2 ~ 3 months. This 8-16 *40X popped out with a cheaper price. So thought its a no brainer.
Plus:
- Great grip & build quality, feels good when you are holding and using it.
- 8X is really clear, even in darker conditions
- 8-16X is good when you really want that extra zoom just to peek and spot something
Minus:
- Caps does not have band/retractors, risk of getting lost

Binos are good , serves my purpose .
You can see very long distance with it.
16x is too far and can become shaky , you need to hold it stable.
If anyone is looking for more magnification binos then better get a tripod.
This is the highest that you can hold with hands .

But If u want wide field of vision go for fixed zoom 8x40 version, if zoom is ur priority then only go with 8-16x40 version as it will compromise on field of vision (only 5° as compared to 8.2° in earlier version) n also near distance tobe focused...
Olympus has provided best optics in this price range...the binoculars r really satisfying n blissful...thx olympus :-)
