Mi Screen Protection Plan – Terms & Conditions

  1. The Plan

    This Mi Screen protection plan governs the registration and support process for screen (also referred to as display, touch screen, touch panel, Liquid Crystal module damages to Xiaomi mobile handsets sold by Authorised Sales Channels of Xiaomi in India in its original packaging. This Plan is not valid for any products that are either refurbished or purchased by a customer post a return from the first customer, even in an unboxed condition.

  1. Plan Term & Eligibility

    Coverage begins when the Customer purchase the Plan for his Mobile Phone (“Device”) and ends on completion of one year from the date of purchase of the Plan (“Plan Term”). This Plan is eligible only for new handsets purchased at the point of sales

  2. Plan features

    1. The Plan is limited to the replacement of Screen & related consumables like adhesive tapes or screws used to fix the screen
    2. The Plan is linked to the IMEI of the handset only and independent of the customer ownership. For the screen protect plans the invoice and membership should be in the name of mi account holder however the user can be friend or family of the purchaser.
    3. Minimal documentation requirement from customer during claim process
    4. Repairs need to be carried out through Xiaomi Authorised Service centres (walk-in) only
    5. Customer claims need to be approved within 2 working hours
    6. Deductible of INR 350+GST need to be paid by customer to Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre directly
    7. Customer can cancel the policy maximum within 7 working days from the date of purchase
  3. Coverage Details

    1. This plan provides coverage which includes screen replacement due to any kind of accidental breakage or damage on the handset
    2. The screen protection coverage is valid up-to 2 claims during the plan term
    3. Customer will be eligible for refund of cost equivalent to screen cost in case if the handset found to be BER (Beyond Economical Repair which mean repair cost >=80% of handset cost as per invoice) or Parts not available as per Xiaomi ASC where refund equivalent to screen cost (as per repair estimate by Xiaomi ASC) to customer need to be done voluntarily by Servify
    4. Coverage applicable to all Xiaomi mobile handsets available currently for sales and new models whenever launched by Xiaomi
    5. No cooling period applicable and claim will be applicable from the date of purchase
  4. Benefits Value

    Maximum Benefits Value is equivalent to cost incurred for screen replacement & related consumables for two instances, during the Plan Period. Any other repairs during the Plan Term or all subsequent repair requests shall be considered as paid repairs only, and the Customer is liable to make payments for such repair requests if undertaken through Xiaomi ASC’s

  5. Scope of Service under the Plan

    Provided the registered handset is handed over to Xiaomi Authorised Service Centres in its entirety during the claim request process and have purchased the registered handset from official sales channels of Xiaomi in India, the following conditions would be considered under the Plan:

  1. Inclusions:

    • Accidental screen damage like broken, cracked or shattered screen
    • Screen not functioning issues due to accidental damage on the handset
    • No depreciation chargeable towards the replacement of screen
    • Device with IMEI number that has been altered due to Dead On arrival replacement process or repair carried out by Xiaomi service centres subject to intimation of such new IMEI number by Xiaomi within 24 hours.
  2. Exclusions

    • Plans purchased on Device which was not under the manufacturer’s warranty at the time of Plan purchase
    • Any other damaged part of the Device, except the Screen
    • Loss arising after the Plan term is expired
    • Damage covered by supplier, dealer or manufacturer’s limited warranty
    • Consequential loss or any kind of wear and tear damages to the screen like scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports
    • If the said Screen Damage Repair Request has already been availed twice during the term of the Plan
    • Detailed exclusions are given in Plan T&C.
  3. Worldwide cover

    The Registered Device is covered for damages occurring anywhere in the world. However, the fulfilment of the claim (repairs), will be done only in India as per the process mentioned.

  4. Screen Damage Repair Standard Claim and Fulfilment Process

    In the event of damage to the handset, Servify need to follow the below process:

      1. Customer should able to register their claim request to Servify through their mobile app or Consumer Portal or Call Centre whichever convenient to customer. Customer should not be forced to use or download only specific channel to register their claim request
    • Received claim request should be processed during the same call or maximum within 1 hour. Servify should communicate the claim request status as either approved or rejected by SMS & email within 24 hours.
    • Servify should raise the appointment token on behalf of the customer in the appointment link shared by Xiaomi within above 2 working hours.
    • Servify should follow up and remind the customer in case of any delay in visit to service centre till the complaint get registered at Xiaomi ASC
    • Servify should advise the customer during the call that they need to pay an administration fee of Rs 350 + GST at the Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre while handing over the Device for repair
    • If the handset declared as BER (repair cost above 80% of handset invoice cost) by Xiaomi ASC and marked as RWR (Return Without Repair) or Cancelled then Servify need to pay the equivalent cost (Screen cost as listed in Mi.com) voluntarily to customer bank account by collecting relevant KYC documents from the customer.
    • Servify need to settle Xiaomi ASP’s towards the repair cost incurred during screen replacement process towards the customers diverted by Servify to their ASC’s.
    • Above timeline is dependent on receipt of proper and complete documents by SERVIFY, in case of any issue or discrepancy in documents above timeline shall not apply.
