How does exchange work?

Once you've decided which product to buy, provide details of your old product in the Exchange Offer form. Offer valid on select product only.

Before you hit 'Buy Now', check with your pincode if the Exchange Offer is available in your location. Exchange is possible in eligible pincodes only.

Once the Order is placed, the new product is shipped. Upon delivery, the executive conducts a standard quality assessment of the old product to verify its physical and functional condition.

The executive offers a final price for the old product. Upon your verbal acceptance, you receive a consent message detailing the product’s unique ID (if applicable), the final price, and any assessed defects. Providing consent and handing over the old product completes the transaction.

If required by the exchange policy, please hand over the necessary accessories and original packaging to the executive. If the newly purchased product is returned, the product price will be refunded. However, any additional discount availed during the product exchange will not be refunded.

Questions

1. How is the exchange price decided?

A : The exchange price is decided on the basis of the evaluation done by exchange experts using a combination of functional & physical checks using diagnostic tools.

2. Where can I find the exchange price?

A : You can find the exchange price in the "View checks" page in the "My orders" section under the new product you ordered.

3. I have placed an exchange order. When will my used product be picked up? Where can I track the status?

A : Your used product will be picked up by Flipkart’s delivery executive at your doorstep when they deliver the new product. Since both pickup and delivery happen at the same time, you can track the new product's delivery status to know the expected date of exchange pickup as well.

4. How do I keep my old product ready for pickup?

A : Please ensure that you have backed up any personal data from your old phone/laptop/ any other electronic item before the pickup. For large/small home appliances, please ensure they are uninstalled and ready for pickup. For all non electronic categories (like apparel) make sure they are clean, dry, intact, and in usable condition. For details refer to T&C.

5. Can the final exchange price be lower than when I placed the order?

A : Yes. Based on the actual condition & assessment of your product, the price may be reduced during the doorstep exchange process.

6. What do I do if my product does not qualify for an exchange or if I don’t like the exchange price offered?

A : If you do not agree with the final valuation, you can cancel the exchange and still receive your new item by paying an amount equal to the exchange discount offered.

7. Can I exchange multiple items while buying a new product?

A : No, You can only exchange one old item for each new item purchased.

8. Is it possible to deliver the new product and pick up my old one at different addresses?

A : No. Since the delivery and pick-up happen at the same time, we’ll only be able to pick up and deliver to a single location.

9. Why am I being charged for availing the exchange?

A : A small fee is charged to cover the costs of picking up, packing, and shipping your old product. This helps us ensure a smooth, reliable exchange and fairly compensates our delivery executive for their efforts.

(Please note: You should not give any additional payments to the exchange executive other than the downgrade amount specified in the final assessment summary.)

10. What is an Exchange bonus?

A : The Exchange Bonus is a limited time extra discount if you apply for an exchange.

11. Will I still be eligible to receive the exchange bonus without giving the old product?

A : The Exchange Bonus is only applicable upon the successful pickup of your return/exchange item.

If the return item is not picked up from your doorstep, the Exchange Bonus will not be applied. In such cases, the discount amount equivalent to the Exchange Bonus will be recovered at your doorstep following an assessment. Please note that the final displayed discount value of the exchange item includes this limited-time Exchange Bonus.

12.What are the reasons that could lead to rejection?

A :The following issues could lead to rejection:

Phones:

  • The brand or model is not part of Flipkart's exchange program.

  • The screen lock (including pattern, PIN, password, fingerprint, face recognition, etc.) or iCloud lock (on Apple phones) is not deactivated.

  • Your old phone is not eligible for exchange if there is a battery bulge.

  • The Flipkart Diagnostic app cannot be downloaded, installed, or run for any reason.

  • For Apple devices, the phone must be able to run and pass an internal Apple diagnostic test in addition to the Flipkart app. Failure to pass this test could lead to the rejection of the exchange.

  • If your phone is not switching on or cannot be assessed at your doorstep, you may be offered the price of a dead phone. This will be a minimal price based on the phone's condition, and we will ensure the proper disposal of your electronic waste.

Laptops:

  • The brand or processor does not match the details you provided at the time of purchasing a new laptop.

  • Your laptop is not eligible for exchange if there is a battery bulge.

  • The password lock has not been removed prior to the exchange.

Large & Small appliances:

  • Television: If the television has physical damage or the motherboard is missing.
  • Air Conditioner: If any part of the air conditioner is missing (e.g., the indoor or outdoor unit).
  • Refrigerator: If the compressor is missing from the refrigerator.
  • Fans: Only ceiling fan, table fan, exhaust fan & pedestal fan will be accepted. Any other type of fan will be rejected.
  • In case the customer does not like the exchange value offered, he/she can choose to not give the exchange product to Flipkart and pay the difference amount to get the new product.

Apparels:

  • Brand does not match the details you provided at the time of purchasing a new jeans.
  • The provided pair of jeans is dirty & not in wearable condition.
  • Ripped jeans, jeans/denim shorts, jeggings.
  • Jeans with any tears, zipper faults or broken belt loops.
  • Children's jeans (0-12 years).
