    Niether good nor bad

    I just bought this boom box from philps, which was not up to my expectation. you can buy this if you just want music player with USB, CD and cassette in it. Dont mislead by remote, as it is just used for CD/DVD player (minus volume adjustment).

    pros:
    >Good sound quality
    >can play cassette, CD, DVD
    >play from USB
    >can act as a dvd player (if you connect to TV)
    >can record cassettes audio

    cons:
    > remote cannot be used for 65% of functions available in the music system

    NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE...

    The music player has got some good functions but the sound quality is not so good.There is no bass at all.The sound is not crisp or clear either.I will not recommend this, instead there are better options available than this.

    Value for Money

    I bought this gadget as a boom box. The intention was to have a device that allows my parents to listen to CDs, cassets and FM. This one has served the purpose quite well. The FM receiver quality is good. In addition, this one has the ability to play VCDs and DVDs. For me, its a bonus. So all in all, a good bundle at a relative reasonable cost.

    Remote was not functioning on arival

    I have opted for a single day delivery and it was delivered the next day. Good on delivery time.The Philips BoomBox is good and working fine but the remote is of very very low quality one and was not working on arrival. ofcourse I have not taken pain of exchanging it as I managed to get one in the market for Rs.50/-

    The Philips AZ5740/98 Boom Box is Best for people searching an AIO media device. The Sound Quality is A+ (always from Philips).
    It Supports:-
    1> Audio Cassettes
    2> MP3 CDs
    3> VCDs
    4> DVDs
    5> MP3 in USB
    6> FM

    And it got a 3.5mm universal Audio jack using which I was able to play old songs stored in Audio Cassettes with Sub-Woofer and more i was able to rip them into MP3 format by connecting with PC Line In Audio. And Now I got my favourite collection in Digital Format too..

    Good Product

    Every thing with the product is very good except couple, which can be improved in next version of the product

    While setting the FM, it does not show the Freq on the small digital screen - that would have been a great help

    There is no Light/LED which is ON while system is running
