    High heels can be a blessing if you know how to wear them. Not only do they make you appear taller, but much more confident too! Nervous about wearing them? We understand for not everyone can strut around in a pair of heels naturally! But if you follow our tips and practise walking in them at home regularly, you can say goodbye to your fear of pumps heels ! Let’s get started!


    Shop carefully!

    All of us have different shapes of foot. Pick the one that best suits the shape of your’s. Always go for the one that is wider than your bare foot. We know this is an obvious one but the first thing about shoe shopping is knowing your exact shoe size! Also, keep in mind that all brands do not have their shoes sized the same. So don’t assume you would fit into a size 8 in all brands! If you’re in doubt, always go for a bigger size than a smaller one. You can always add cushions or shoes pads in it, but you’ll be in trouble if you get a smaller one. Walk around in your pumps heels in the store for as much time as you’d like. Do not rush!


    Walk from heel to toe

    When you’re walking in heels, you should act like you’re walking in heels! A lot of people just put their whole foot down at once as if they’re walking in flats. That is the biggest mistake you can make and will make you look very clumsy! When you’re walking in pumps, put your heels down first, then shift the weight to your toes. This will make your walk much more natural and elegant! 


    Take smaller steps 

    Walking in pumps heels is essentially walking on your toes. You would agree that it is not practical to take big steps while walking on your toes, which is why we strongly recommend taking small and dainty steps. The higher your heels are, the shorter your strides need to be if you want to feel comfortable and natural. Trust us, you will not look funny taking small steps! In-fact, trying to walk too quickly in a pair of pumps heels will only make you look awkward!


    Walk in a straight line

    When walking in pumps, visualize yourself walking in a straight line, like how you would walk if you were given a chance to on a ramp! Try putting down one foot more or less directly in front of the other. No, we aren’t suggesting you do a catwalk - you don’t need to go all out by over-exaggerating your walk! Just imagine you’re walking on a straight line! It’s quite simple once you get the hang of it. 


    Lean back

    You could find yourself leaning forward involuntarily when you’re trying to walk quick in pumps. This could make your posture look very awkward. Lean back slightly, pushing your shoulders back. Trust us, this is a much easier way to walk in your pumps and will not make you look funny!
