About Khalid A-H Ansari
Khalid Abdul Hamid Ansari is an Indian businessman and journalist. He was the Chairman of the Mid-Day Group of publications and Inquilab Daily until his recent retirement. He started the magazine Sportsweek in 1968 to champion the cause of Indian sports and sportsmen. Ansari extensively covered the Kargil war in 1999, the NAM conference in Harare, and the CHOGM summit in the Bahamas. He was also one of the members of the Indian delegation to the United Nations General Assembly in 1989. Ansari is best known for having covered nine Olympic Games since Munich 1972. He was honored with the Padma Shri in 2001.
