Great Value for Money buy
Got an excellent deal on Flipkart for this Drive on Jun 2013. Delivery and Packaging from WS Retail was excellent as usual. Performance is adequate and the drive is robust. Geat Value for Money buy and recommend this for cheap and reliable Data storage. Being externally powered can also be used with a Smartphone, Tablet, TV, Raspebrry Pi or Routers that support File Servers.

Bada hai toh behtar hai!
Purchased it on 7th June, 2011. Till date it has been a delightful companion. Yes, data transfer speed is high [ around 30 MBPS in windows 8 and 34 MBPS in UBUNTU ]. After a year or so, one out of 2 partitions disappeared suddenly (but is still usable with UBUNTU). This must have been due to various RnD carried out with this disk.
I use it @ home that's why have no issue with the power supply.
I still remember is tough package & prompt delivery by flipkart.

I bought this product long time back. Hard disk is quiet big and heavy... And requires external power..!!
But I use it for PC so not a big issue for me.
The one who are thinking to buy for laptop, I would suggest them not to buy this one because you may find it difficult to carry it from one place to another.

Its good and I have been using it for months now!no complains!works great!But guys go for something lighter if you can afford it!Also, what with plugging this separately and the computer separately,it gets very clumsy to use!You need two very closely placed power sources!

Not great, purchase only if you are brand freak
The product is fine. But I will recommend purchasing Transcend Hard Disk instead. The device needs formatting if by mistake system restarts without ejecting it or the wire of the device pulled up on moving.

hi, i am writing this review after a long time of use. This is a rugged hard disk with solid feel in your hand. The transfer rate is pretty slow. At a times even taking few hours for few GB of transfer. Cons: creates new folder everytime you transfer, need external power supply, the LED indicator is deceptive, dont expect any service / feedback from seagate or flipkart. I tried to contact website, company twitter buy reply is pathetic. you buy & you r on your own.
