When reviewing headphones it is hard being completely objective. Every brand has their particular sound signature that some people prefer while others do not. Having said that these headphones are kind of a departure from Sennheiser's traditional dark sound.

First things first, this review comes from a listener who has not listened to headphones more priced than these.
Also, I'm doing this review after a month after I've bought these.

I bought this headphones as I wanted a replacement for the PX series. I had tested one of the Bose headphones of similar category earlier and decided that HD 558 sounded better. And I'm really happy with my choice.

Most of you who want to buy these headphones also have Audio Technica ATH-M50 on your consideration list. According to MKBHD M50's were the best headphones you can buy at that price. But after much research I decided to buy these, and have never been happier.
