    Concise book

Excellent book on life of Shivaji. Great summary of his life and circumstances in which Shivaji crafted his kingdom. However, this is a very old book and does not include research and documents unearthed in last 50 years.

    A very well composed book

Those who love history, especially Shivaji, then this book is an outstanding read. Going outside folklore, this gives some hard facts about the life and times of Shivaji era. Writing style the foot notes given are all exceptional.

    Classy product

Fantastic book for someone who needs an unadulterated raw info on Shivaji Maharaj. Do note that this book is quiet old as it's written in 1919 & new info has been found which can be different than the info in this book

    A hollow anglicised account

Jadunath Sarkar, the most hollow historian of his times, has attempted to write about Shivaji the great. After having read almost all works of his, based on his erstwhile reputation, this man comes across as a typical western sycophant. He has a trait of unknowingly antagonising himself. Moreover, his build up of the works and character of the Chhatrapati comes from mostly Persian and Mughal sources, hence a tendency of referring to Marathas as 'the enemy' in almost all battles described by h...
