I bought this soundbar for my Samsung Smart TV. It improves the audio output of the TV by manifolds. The bass is sometimes overpowering, however, you can adjust it. The remote provided with the soundbar, is quite handy. HDMI cable is not provided with the package, an optical cable comes with the soundbar. It's a 2.1 Soundbar, so keep your expectations realistic. Very Good
It has more bass and less treble. Good to play music but for watching movies i felt that some dialogues are not clearly heared. It does not support dolby atmos so dont forget to change the audio setting of the movie else tou will not be able to hear the dialogue clearly. This system is good for 180sq ft room. It works good with sony tv and i felt no issues with a2dp connectivity with tv making it 99% wireless music system. Overall value for money with good output.

A:No sound bar can replace a 5.1 system. If you want a room filling home theatre effect sound go for HTS20r. But you want a compact system with no extra speakers around then HTS400 is a good choice..
