by this amount tamron its possible to hv macro photography cz its hv macro mode in 180-300mm range
drawbacks are
1. focus is slower than Nikor 18-55mm VR lens
2. in video mode.....auto-focus makes noise which's recorded in the video itself

2. 1:2 macro (180-300mm)
Points to be remembered are:
1. for handheld shots use shutter speed at least 1/250s
2. for sharpness at 300mm shoot between f/8-f/9

I used it on Nikon D5100 and got amazing results from this lens. Just go for it if u need a high zoom at low cost and with better image quality :)

This lens is great for the money you pay. I've taken many great photos with it on vacation and around town. It is also very compact and light. While it is not an ideal lens to shoot Birds in Flight due to its slow auto-focusing it is great for general photos and portraits.

Tamron 70-300mm Great Budget Telephoto Lens
You can't use this lens so closer to any object for Macro (as we use 18-55mm). Because It's focal length starts from 70 which means the camera should have some distance. Also you can't expect Wide Angle Shot with this lens.

I got this deal on Rs.7200. In 7200 we are getting auto focus and macro mode too.
Cann't compare with Nikon's 70-300 lens as that's just double of it's price range.
Good for beginners just to understand how lens works at higher range and what exposer and shutter speed need to keep at low light.
Auto focus works great at most of the time.
Very good macro mode with 1:2 ratio.

The maximum focal length for this camera lens is 300mm and the minimum is 70mm. The aperture at its high focal length is f/4-5.6 and the aperture at the lowest focal length is f/32. It also has a minimum focus distance of 0.95m.
This lens has a rotating optical construction for better mobility and a top tele-zoom lens with Macro 1:2 function which can activated with a Switchover mechanism and Digital Lens technology for higher image stabilization. The lens also has low dispersion glass for greater lens sharpness.
This lens is highly recommended for APS-C photographers. This lens can pull small and/or distant subjects further into view. Taking close up pictures are also easier with this lens.
