  • Rosemary Sassoon (Sevenoaks, Kent) is a handwriting consultant specialising in both the educational and medical aspects. Her background was in lettering and design but it is her fieldwork and research into adult problems that form the basis for this book. She lectures widely and is the author of several books. Gunnlaugur S E Briem (Emeryville, CA) is a designer who has taken an active interest in the experimental teaching of italic handwriting in his native Iceland. He has a Ph.D. from the Royal College of Art in London, and is on the advisory board of Visible Language. He has designed several typefaces, including a new family for The Times newspaper.
