Some M1 Macs don't support Gen 2 USB 3.1 drives, in that case you will see data transfer rate dropping to 20 Mbps, but Gen 1 USB 3.1 devices provide 500 Mbps data transfer without issues. If you're facing issue with some pen drives not being recognised by the Mac, This can be due to known macOS 12 bugs causing the Mac USB port not to work and then of course your Mac will fail to recognize a USB flash drive. To fix this there are threads on Apple's support page that explore the topic at length. You could downgrade your macOS, reinstall macOS or upgrade macOS to avoid the macOS 12 bug for example. Heat Dissipation: It is normal for all electronics to dissipate heat to prevent components from thermal damage, This applies for TEQTA hub as well, as long as the dissipation is warm, it is good.
