Tess Of The D'Urbervilles  (English, Hardcover, Hardy Thomas)

Condition of the product was great as usual.

It deals with a girl named Tess and her experiences as a fallen woman in a repressive and prudish Victorian society. Thomas Hardy is one of the best writers of the later part of the 19th century. Tess is a wonderfully written book, inspite of its length and somewhat difficult to follow writing style (duh, it's the Victorian period after all). Hardy caused a lot of controversy in his time, that's for sure. Bless him!

When one reads Tess of D'Urberviles not only is one made concious of the complete unnecessary prestidge associated with a family name but also how things like forgiveness, mercy and understanding are largely absent in the society. For Tess who dies as a unhallowed murderess is actually an innocent, tender hearted and excessively moral bound woman.

This cute little fellow was sent in a very careful way that it reached me in good health and pages. Well, D'urbervilles is the name used many times in the book, so kindly check the pronunciation because I used the wrong pronunciation by the time I reached to its end. This book can give u a lovely picture of pastoral landscape along with the amazing story telling and some struggles of the Victorian women. Basically it's a book about women with a feminist point of view. Give it a read.
