The Bhagavad Gita  (English, Paperback, Easwaran Eknath)

Purchasing and reading Bhagavad Gita is long pending wish. After going through multiple reviews in different forums, finally I purchased The Bhagavad Gita by Eknath Easwaran. I started reading the book and I am finding it is really good read.

Written in Simple English and each Chapter is having commentary by Diane Morrison followed by English translation. There is a Glossary at the end for Sanskrit terms used in the book.

A beautiful high-level overview of the wisdom contained in the Gita - a great book for a first-time reader or for the uninitiated. So many times you come across translations that focus on the details but lose out the big picture.

This is not one of them. Easwaran writes in a simple yet captivating manner and brings out masterfully the essence of Sri Krishna's teachings.

I haven't finished reading the book, but I can already say that this is brilliantly written. The translations are so crisp and well articulated that it managed to convey the sublime meaning of the Gita so well. There is only so much you can know about spirituality from reading a book and if any one book can put you on the way, this is it.
