    A must read for everyone

I find this book very useful. Its approach is very simple and straight. The message can be understood by any layman even when the author talks about hospitals and aircraft.

I have found the checklist useful in managing my personal life as well as professional life. It makes you well prepared for any task and any, well almost any, eventuality.

In fact, I would go to the extent of saying that it is much better than the current fad of gloating in multitasking while the time taken for each of y...

    The Checklist Manifesto

Excellent, timely delivery and a good reading material that I was looking for. As I was searching for this book which my colleague had refrred, I read this in one sitting. Precise and case based, it indeed throws light on the importance of checklists in life for that matter for all things.I have suggested to several people I know that they should read it. Preparing a checklist for our tasks is worth giving a try! I feel its essential reading for anyone to get things right.

    Good book to read

This book is worth reading. It illustrates the importance of using checklists in accomplishing our professional responsibilities. The author narrates his surgical experiences and the complex checklists used by pilots in aviation to establish the efficacy of using checklists. This is a good read for anyone, who is keen on doing a quality job or delivering/rendering a high-quality product or service as the case may be.

    Good book - Well researched

This book is good. His research was mostly confined to Pharmaceutical Industry as he is a doctor. But he gives examples from other industries like Construction, Hedge Funds, Aviation where checklists are part of their daily process. The best part of the book is his description of his collaboration with WHO to prepare a universal surgical checklist.

Below are some of the good excerpts which I noted down while I was reading this book

    1. Why Checklist is needed: The fallibility of huma...

    Good Book

    1. if you are going to read this book like a Novel you will get nothing out of this.
    2. Don't expect anything magic will come from this book. you will not get a single thing which you didnt know
    3. This has a very simple rule and in the meantime very powerful as well...keep track of your all(important) actvities in personal life or professional life

I have given 3 ratting because i had very expectation from this book. If you are not a very organized guy then this can be a life changer (ofcou...

The Checklist Manifesto – How to get things right!

I recently read the book ‘The Checklist Manifesto’ by Dr. Atul Gawande. A manifesto? A manifesto by a doctor??? I know answering a question in response to a question is not acceptable!
Manifesto by definition ‘means concept of a public declaration of policy’ and presenting this by a doctor seemed to be a bit skeptical…But I got the answers to my questions when I started reading the book. In this book he has discussed a solution to prevent simple mistakes to handle complexity, A CHECKLIST. Dr....

    Checklist is cheking errors

This is a book about common mistakes we make, not by not knowing things, but by oversight. Of course in certain spheres of life this avoidable mistakes could mean loss of life or limb. So the author argues his case about making sure that we don't miss what we know already. This he does by going in to high profile businesses like medicine, aviation and construction and comparing how these diverse profession deal with avoiding mistakes. He convinces you that something as simple as a check list ...
