The Road To Reality: A Complete Guide To The Laws Of The Universe is a path-breaking book by Roger Penrose that aims to help the readers gain an in-depth knowledge of the universe.

    Summary Of The Book

In The Road To Reality: A Complete Guide To The Laws Of The Universe, the author provides the readers with detailed descriptions about our universe and explains concepts regarding this, which have rarely been understood by nonprofessionals. It provides complex accounts that pertain directly to our physical universe and all of these accounts have been backed up by mathematical proof, in the form of theories.

The book has been written, keeping in mind the fact that some of the readers might not have any previous knowledge about this subject. Owing to this assumption, the early chapters of this book have been devoted to the explanation of those topics, which are considered to be rather basic in nature.

The author wrote this book with the intention of helping the readers realize the beauty of the universe in which they live. He also wanted them to grasp the philosophical effects that the universe has on its inhabitants.

The author has ensured that this book is written in such a way as to grab the attention of the readers. He does this by making use of beautiful descriptions and numerous diagrams. These diagrams have been hand-drawn and help to explain the concepts mentioned in The Road To Reality: A Complete Guide To The Laws Of The Universe, in an easily understandable way.

    The best to understand reality

It is most effective for those who have the desire to know and the ability to think. Best for those with pure science background but others can also grasp the ideas. The writer frequently shift the domain of discussion between science and philosophy and thus try to merge both. What are the most basic laws of nature? Had the laws been created for our universe only or the laws have eternal existence? Why the universe exists at all? The writers does not arrive a definite conclusion. Rather he pu...

    An Ambitious Goal Accomplished Outstandingly!

When it comes to providing a roadmap to cover (almost) all of reality, only someone like Roger Penrose could have accomplished it in a single volume book.

This book certainly covers almost all of known physics (except highly arcane, speculative topics such as 'holographic theory' and the like). Starts out beautifully with basic laws of physics i.e. reality, and quickly educates the reader on the more sophisticated topics. Although I felt that the transition from "easy" to the more difficult...

might be a difficult read but an excellent book

The first few chapters(1-16) introduce you to the mathematical concepts that you will require to understand the later chapters.Penrose manages to cover almost all the basic laws and the modern developments in almost all the fields of physics.
I believe a mathematically minded general reader will definitely enjoy this.

I bought this book 3 years ago and i still go through book as this takes me to the journey of physics and helps me understand the deep laws which shapes the universe. This book can be accesible to anyone with a basic understanding of mathematics and elementary physics, though not important. The author takes you to the journey of beautiful equations and laws from the veru elementary level so that anyone can have a profound understanding after grasping those concepts. This is one of the most im...

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS- I READ SO FAR

Although it is difficult to understand some chapters, but with sustained efforts one will gradually understand.
It deals with higher level physics and therefore, difficulty in grasping the subject can not be avoided totally.
Cross-referencing of various topics is wonderful & it helps to understand significantly.Overall, it is a wonderful book.
Sougato bought the book for his father & his father's name is given below.

    Questions and Answers
Q:Is this book helpful for a 17years old physics student
A:Its a book written for general reading. So if you want to read about physics then it's good. But if you are planning to buy it for your school or competitive exams then it won't serve that purpose.
