    This is the most complete book for C++ programmers. It teaches you to be a better programmer in an interesting way. This book was recommended to me by friends who work in tech giants like Cisco and Intel. Personally I am in love with it and I've read it umpteen times. It has helped me a lot professionally. Excellent Intermediate C++ book

    This is not a beginning programming book. This is not a beginning C++ book.

    The main advantage of this book is that Vol1 and Vol2 together are the only books required to go through all aspects of C++. It is less time consuming to read the two volumes than to go through a couple of them from various different authors. The reasoning of concepts is also quite good.

    If you are a beginner, I suggest you try a fast pace book first (Accelerated C++ highly recommended).

    Do not stop with these two ...

    Really Good book

    This book is good starter for someone who is experienced in C & wants to learn C . Actually it teaches you basic OOPS concept through C . I have read other C books but those are majorly focused on C syntax & briefly discuss OOPS but this one explains OOPS concept quite well also explain why idiosyncrasies of language from compiler perspective so it good one for Embeded designers who used to programming in C.

    Good Book for C++

    This is a good book but don't expect it to teach you programming. This shall rather be an introduction to the basics of C++ and a little of OOPs. If you are new to C++, rather new to programming, then it's highly recommended that you purchase a book which will teach you how to program and not the features of C++ and the basics of OOPs.

    If you have a decent understanding of procedural programming, do buy this book and the follow up version to understand the features in full depth.

    IN SHORT, ...
