I wanted a hard disk to backup my life! All my photos, songs and video collections. So I started researching to buy the best one. I found that in some sites WD Passport was #1 and this one was #2. i bought it from letsbuy on feb 14 this year for exactly 6.5K as it was not listed on flipkart at that time. I bought it after reading a lot of online reviews.
i wanted a ROBUST hard disk with exceptional Performance under 7K and this Transcend Device just fits the bill and my requirements.

1. Matte finish design with rubber coating.
2. Good performance, got upto 20MBps in USB 2.0 write test.
3. Very rugged drive with Military grade drop tested.

These usually work as advertised - rugged and shock proof, like my previous purchase - StoreJet 25H3P. Actually, that itself inspired me to buy this one from Transcend.
But if by chance, you got a faulty piece, maybe one in a hundred - that gets damaged by dropping just once - then you are pretty unlucky. Because then you would have a lot of difficulty claiming the warranty. There are very few RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) c...

I brought the Transcend StoreJet 25M3 April 2014 at 3780 rupees. Normally, I would stay away from transcend brand(Not a good history of reliability in Memory cards and Pen drives). But every now and then, even the worst company gets something done right, causing a "Disruption" of the Status-Quo. Very good product
I am using transcend products for 5 months. This is good one for laptop and desktop users. Look and feel is very strong. Speed is very good. we can buy with good offer from flipkart (very fast kart).

Much has changed since the past years, all the top reviews are at least a year old, Flipkarts delivery was top notch( Obviously, it cost me 4600Rs)
My observations:
1) Its very nice to hold, I like to caress it more than my cat now.
2) The cable is longer than the Seagate HDD that I had ordered for my sister.
3) Only one USB Plug to the laptop as opposed to two plugs that the older reviews keep complaining (Two USB plugs are required only for those old CRT Desktops)

Heavy duty, rugged and a performer. This hard disk ranks second to the WD Passport. But I don't find any huge or even a tiny difference between the two that gives either of them an advantage over the other.
